Racism on the web

ASUS President Jacob Mantle, ArtSci ’10, has issued an apology regarding a comment he made on a friend’s Facebook wall. The picture Mantle commented on showed two girls wearing headscarves. The comment, “I like your Taliban picture,” was removed last week, he said. “It was an inappropriate joke which was off-colour,” he said. “It was a disrespectful comment.” Mantle said he was contacted by AMS President Talia Radcliffe who notified him of the offensive nature of the comment.

Re-creating and remembering

Memory is a funny thing. Memory is also the source of inspiration for three Kingston artists and their new show Re-Collection.

A slim margin of error

One goal. That’s all that stood between the women’s soccer team and a chance to host the OUA Final Four next weekend.

Marketing democracy and punning on politics

Recently, there has been much controversy over Sarah Palin’s reported $150,000 clothing expenditure, but how much would you spend on an “I can see Russia from my house!” Palin-themed T-shirt?
