Nothing beats making a homemade margarita. Making these drinks is a cost effective way to save on overpriced restaurant drinks and serving them is a great way to entertain friends and famiy. Follow these easy steps to creating and serving your own margaritas.

Watermelon Margarita

Watermelon is one of my favourite summer fruits, and this recipe definitely brings out the savoury and refreshing flavour. You can feel guiltless when you’re serving this drink as watermelon is full of anti-oxidants and is low in calories.

3 cups fresh seedless watermelon pulp
1 cup fresh lime juice
2 cups simple syrup or honey 1 1/2 cups premium silver tequila
1/2 cup triple sec
3 cups ice

Use a blender to extract the watermelon juice or place watermelon in a bowl and use a potato masher to extract as much just as possible. Next, combine watermelon pulp and juice with lime juice, simple syrup, triple sec and tequila. Stir and serve over ice.

Raspberry Lemonade Margarita

This recipe is perfect for whipping up in less than five minutes and the frozen lemonade spares you from prepping fresh fruit. If you want to give your blender a break, this recipe provides a refreshing alternative.

1/2 cup Tequila
1/2 cup Triple Sec
1 bottle of light beer
1 can of Frozen Raspberry Lemonade 1 cup of water

Empty the can of raspberry lemonade into a pitcher. Next, pour in 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup tequila, 1/2 cup triple sec, and 1 bottle of light beer. Mix all the ingredients well and serve over ice.

Pineapple Lime Margarita

Only a few things can top the tangy combination of pineapple and lime. Together, the sour tart taste of lime and the sweetness of pineapple both balance and compliment each other. This recipe will make you realize how easy it is to replace your simple lemonade with these summer margaritas. Remember if you’re not up for coring a pineapple then there’s always the easy way out with canned pineapples or pre-cored pineapples.

Pineapple1

Ingredients
3 cups fresh pineapple chunks (about 1 pound)
1 cup fresh lime juice
½ cup of tequila
1/8 cup of honey salt or sugar, for rim (optional)
lime wedges for serving (optional)

Always remember to serve your drinks over ice or blended with ice, since nothing’s worse than a melted margarita. Take time to have fun and customize recipes to your liking; the best part about creating these summer drink concoctions is that you don’t have to stick to the recipe. If you have fresh blueberries, strawberries or even want to add a splash of orange juice, then go ahead because you’ll find it’s hard to ruin these drinks. All you’ll be doing is turning your pineapple margarita into a tropical one.
